6 months old: 28 Jan 2009 to 27 Feb 2009
Baby Jez's weight is about 6.8kg. She needs to be fed every 3 to 4 hrs, drinking 4 and a half oz each time. One cereal feed per day. There are about 2 night feeds. Her hair is about 2 inches long but many people still say she looks like a baby boy.
I discovered Baby Jez's first tooth on 28 Jan 2009, which is also the first day of her being 6 months old. It was found on the top right gum. After the first discovery, there's no other tooth found until end of Feb.
Baby Jez likes very much to use her index fingers to touch, dig or scratch things. When she's about to sleep, she will also keep touching her own fingers, as if thinking why all the ten long objects can move differently at the same time.
We also heard her say 'mum mum' this month... Hopefully, she will say 'Ma Ma' soon since both are similar.
She also starts to eat solid food and the first solid food that I gave her is porridge. However, later on I realise it's better to give her cereal first as I'm afraid that the porridge might not be soft enough for her to swallow. Baby Jez loves cereal very much. Whenever she sees the bowl, she will get very excited and keep on kicking her legs as she knows that it's time to eat cereal.
Baby Jez managed to turn to her left on 22 Feb 09. However, crawling is still not as easy for her at the moment. I believe it is also because I did not let her crawl on the playing mat whereby there's more friction and can assist her to climb. Baby Jez will try to reach out to anything that appears before her eyes. If she sees it, she will bend her body & stretch out her hands to get it. She's very attracted to toys with music. She likes to play books too. I brought her to the community library in Sengkang Compass Point for the first time. I only gave her a mini book and she actually played with the book for 1 hr, just by touching, turning or scratching the book. I taught her how to open the book and turn the page and within minutes, she is already able to turn the pages herself. She gets very excited by the pictures & colors inside the book and she becomes talkative, as if trying to tell us what she saw in the book.
