On 28Jul2010, Jez had her first actual lesson in her Xiamen school... Everything was taught in Mandarin and Jez did have some difficulties to communicate with the teachers coz' she will speak English to them & they couldn't understand... Nevertheless, she enjoyed the lesson every much... The school is called 亿婴天使早教中心... They actually taught Montessori concepts in their lessons... The first lesson she took was called 启智 which is more all rounded lesson which consists of music, singing, playing different musical instruments, exercise by going thru obstacles, doing science experiments, and doing a art work... On the same day, we celebrated Jez's 2nd Bdae in Xiamen house.... Papa ordered a 喜洋洋 cake for her... The present we gave her is actually her 1 yr old present from our fren, hahha... It's a kitchen set & she loves it...
When Jez is about 25 months, we start to stop diapers for her even when we are outside... I actually did not plan to train her that early coz kids in spore seem to wear diapers til 3 yrs old even... But bcoz kids in China dont wear diapers since 1 yr old, so it seems quite shameful when other people see her still wearing diaper.. Jez was very cooperative on this, she will tell me whenever she wants to pass motion so we never see her wet her pants outside..
At 亿婴天使, she also took other lessons called 特色课 eg. 蒙氏生活，蒙氏音乐，美劳 & 分享阅读
She learnt more lifeskills in 蒙氏生活, the lesson includes teaching them how to sweep the floor, how to wash towels & hang towels, how to display books in order, cleaning the vase etc... During one of the lessons, the teacher actually, requires them to use chopsticks to pick beads & group them in different colours... At that time, Jez was only abt 27months old... Initially, I thought the teacher was requiring too much for such a young kid to hold chopsticks... But when Jez was given the chopsticks, she immediately hold it at the right position & able to pick the beads & separate them into different bowls based on the colours... I was really surprised & the other parents thought that I have taught her how to use chopsticks... But that was the first time she get to use chopsticks... From then on, I let her use chopsticks to eat noodles... We took a 3 months course for 蒙氏生活.
She also learnt from the Music lessons, whereby they teach kids to listen to different sounds made by different things & different animals... Eg, the sound of a worker sawing the wood, or knocking a nail, sound of thunder etc... They use games for the different themes to interest the kids... Eg, for a music of anxiety, they play a game by creating a scene that the small fishes are chased by the shark... They introduced the kids to different tunes and different expressions when making different sounds... It was really alot of fun, the songs are very nice & me myself enjoyed it very much... The full of course of Music lessons actually took us 1 year to finish which is a total of 4 x 3 months course... 同唱，同揍，同拍手，同舞...
As for 美劳, there are a total of 3 parts.. Part A is more on colouring & drawing. Part B is to use recycled materials to create an art piece & Part C is using soft clay to make into different objects... Jez is actually the first one to complete the full Art Course in her school... Feel proud of that coz many students drop out half way & we persist thru out... It's a 1 yr course...
分享阅读 consists of 6 sets of storybooks... This set of storybooks includes mainly science & math contents with creative narration & pictures... We did not complete the full reading course because of the change of teacher midway but I still buy the storybook for Jez to read at home...
In Mar 2011, Jez start to attend half day lesson in her school... The lesson starts from 9am til 1130am... Jez did not cry at all during the first lesson... Was quite proud of her and going to school is a happy thing for her... This is when I start to have a short break for myself... However, this short break is for me to do household chores & to prepare lunch for her when her school ends....
On some of the days, after she ended her half day lesson, she will come back for lunch & nap then we will go school again for the 1 hr 特色课 at 5pm... Each week we can have up to 3 特色课... It was quite tiring for me tho' coz when Jez takes her nap, it's difficult to get her wake up again, she usually can slp up to 3 hrs for afternoon nap... but still, we persevere through and complete the courses we want...

Our 宝贝宣慈: Baby Jez: 12 Months Old
12 Months Old: 28 Jul 09 to 27 Aug 09
We brought Jez to trim her hair as her hair is getting long. We celebrated Jez's 1 yr old birthday at our house on the 25 Jul 09, slightly earlier than her actual date. This time we invited lesser guests as compared to her full mth celebration. We ordered a 60 pax buffet. We would like to thank those who spent their time with us to celebrate this special occasion with us and thanks for all the presents. I ordered a cute Baby Minnie cake and specially bought a Baby Minnie outfit for Jez to wear as she's born in the Year of Rat so she's a baby Minnie too. I hope everyone likes the cake & the buffet.
1 week after we celebrated Jez's bdae, she actually started to become sick. Initially, she had cough & mild fever. Later on, she had flu. After another week, her cough & flu got a little better but she started to have fever again... I remember on National day, after we watched the NDP parade, she had fever. I gave her medicine and her fever subsided. But after a few hours later, the fever came again. This repeats about 3 times and I became very worried so the next day, Wilson's sis brought us to KKH to see doc. Doc said that she had viral infection and fever will come & go for abt 5 days. I felt quite helpless and scared also, especially when Wilson is not around. Luckily, my mum is at hm with me. On the 5th day, she still had fever so my bro's gf drove us to KKH. She had blood test, urine test and X-ray. They said that she had bacteria infection. So they gave her antibiotic, only then, she got better. However, the antibiotic had side effects. She had diarrhea and vomited about twice. The whole process lasted for almost 3 weeks. I'm super glad that she has totally recovered now.
This month Jez had another great achievement, to sit up by her own on 4Aug09. Altho' she was sick, but she kept on practicing whenever she felt better. I also taught her a new hand signal for 'No More'. Whenever, she finished eating her porridge or drinking her milk, I will say 'No More' and she will do the hand signal by turning her wrist. She can understand things very well. She can already differentiate who is Mama, Papa, Ah Gong, Ah Ma and Popo. When we say 'Where is Ah Ma?', she will turn & look at Ah Ma. When we say 拜拜, she will look at the 神台.
Jez likes to sit in the walker very much, cos she can go anywhere she likes... She's considered slow in her motor skills. Sometimes, I will put her inside the playpane and she can usually stay inside for abt 30mins so that I can do some other things and need not worry that she will injure herself.

Our 宝贝宣慈, Baby Jez: 11 Months Old
11 Months Old: 28th June 2009 to 27th Jul 2009
Baby Jez weight is abt 7.6kg. She needs to be fed every 3 to 4 hrs, drinking 6 & half oz of milk each time. There are 1 cereal & 1 porridge feeds or 2 porridge feeds each day.
Baby Jez has learnt quite a few things this month. She is able to do hand signals for 'twinkle twinkle little stars'. She will open & close her fingers when we sing the song. Also, she has learnt to do fly kiss. When we say 'Hello', she will get the signal to do the phone call action, to put her hand beside her ear. She also learnt to do 伤脑筋, she will place her hand on her head & pat for a few times when we say 伤脑筋. We actually regretted teaching her 伤脑筋 coz she actually pat her head quite hard sometimes. She can understand right and left hand. She has also learnt to say "Ne Ne" for milk. She has learnt to open & close bottle caps. One thing very dangerous that she has learnt is to crawl out of the walker. Now, we have to keep an eye on her whenever she's in her walker. This month Jez has to part with Mama again as Mama has to leave for Xiamen to meet Papa for 15 days.

Baby Jez's weight is abt 7.5kg.She needs to be fed every 3 to 4 hrs, drinking 6oz of milk each time. There is 1 porridge & 1 cereal or 2 porridge feeds per day. There is 1 night feed.
Baby Jez has totally stopped sucking the pacifier, great achievement.
She has learnt to clap her hands. I remembered when I first taught her, I hold her hands & show her how to clap. Only after a few times, she is already able to clap herself. From then, I realised that I can start to teach her many other things.
Later on, she oso learnt to wave her hands meaning 'Bye Bye'. She can also do "Peekaboo'. When we say "Peeka.....", she will cover her eyes with her hands then she will open up her hands and see if we said "boo".
Baby Jez starts to wriggle more this month. She will crawl using left hand & left leg to push herself further to get the things she wants. She is also trying very hard to sit up by herself.
Altho' she's considered slow in crawling/walking, her legs aren't weak at all. Her legs are actually quite 'powderful'as she kicks very hard. If she is unable to fetch the things she wants, she will also use her legs to grab/hook the things. She is definitely making full use of her legs.
This month Baby Jez has to part with Papa again. As Papa needs to leave for Xiamen, China to work. This time, we can sense that the bond between Baby Jez & Wilson. Whenever, we do videocall thru' Skype, we can see that Baby Jez is very happy and she will respond to Wilson.

Our 宝贝宣慈, Baby Jez: 9 Months Old

Baby Jez's weight is abt 7.3kg. She needs to be fed every 3 hrs, drinking 6 oz of milk each time. There is 1 porridge & 1 cereal feed per day. There is 1 night feed.
On 30th Apr 09, we heard Baby Jez call Mama for the first time, it was clear & loud. Maybe it was just an coincident, we did not really hear her call again subsequently. Baby Jez celebrates Mother's day for the first time. We went to Forum shopping centre, I tink she enjoys the day more than me as she saw many toys in Toy'R'US. We had Tim Sum for lunch & Seafood for dinner that day. Thanks to Jez Papa. Heehee...
Baby Jez is getting naughtier. She will throw temper or even shout if she's unhappy, or if she want someone to carry her go walk walk... She will even choose who to carry her. If she doesnt want to let you carry, she will beat your hands and turn her face to the back. While we were having our meal, we need to find something for her to hold to entertain her. Or else, she will refuse to sit & wait for us to finish the meal.
She can now sit steadily without much support. However, it is still impt to 'jaga' her while she's sitting as she will juz lie dwn anytime. We also tried not to give her pacifier when she's going to slp. 婆婆 was the one who started to try, and indeed, Baby Jez can slp without her pacifier. Thanks to 婆婆. I always thought it will be difficult to stop her from sucking her pacifier. From then onwards, we will only give her if she's really cranky.
Baby Jez also learns some hand signals like shaking her hands which means 'Bye Bye'. I also taught her how to clap hands. Surprisingly, she picks up quite fast. When we say 'clap hands', she will put her hands together to clap.
Baby Jez likes to sleep with her pillow covering her face. This is exactly what I'm doing also. Heehee....
Everyone likes Baby Jez's feet very much when they see her. Coz her feet will keep circling when she's excited or happy. Also, her feet is considered small cos both me & Wilson's are small too.
Baby Jez really perspires alot. Sometimes, I direct the fan straight at her, she will still perspire & the sweat will flow dwn drop by drop. Just like her Papa!
We found 4 new teeth growing this month. 2 front teeth on the upper jaw & 2 front teeth on the lower jaw, heehee.... :)

Our 宝贝宣慈, Baby Jez: 8 Months Old
8 months old: 28 Mar 2009 to 27 Apr 2009
Baby Jez's weight is about 7.2kg. She needs to be fed every 3 to 4 hrs, drinking 5 and half oz of milk each time. 1 Cereal and 1 Porridge per day.
Baby Jez gets to swim for the first time on 10Apr09 at Ziyan 干妈's hse. We can see that she felt abit insecure when i put her in the water. However, a few minutes later, she started to play with the water... Altho' she did not really get very excited, we can see that she's enjoying herself and she knows what's going on. She did not cry for the whole 15mins session. I believe she likes water activites alot just like her Papa, will try to bring her for swimming more often...
Baby Jez starts to snatch things from her cousins now. She can be quite fierce sometimes. Ah Ma bought Baby Jez a mini piano and she likes it very much. When her cousins touch her piano, she will push their hands away. In order to stop her selfishness, I will purposely ask her cousins to touch her toys while she's playing so that they play together... However, kids are just kids. It's still a long way to teach her the correct values...
It is now very dangerous to leave Baby Jez sitting on the infant seat alone now. She will put both her hands at the side of the seat and push herself up. If nobody is monitoring, the seat might just turn over. I will only put her on the infant seat when she wants to drink milk as she is now able to hold the bottle and finish all the milk.
This month I have to leave Baby Jez for the first time to go to Abu Dhabi for 9 days to meet up with Wilson. We came back together on 25Apr09 and Wilson's sis actually brought Baby Jez to the airport to welcome us. Wilson is really happy to see Baby Jez. On the first day, Baby Jez doesnt really want to communicate with Wilson. However, on the second day, after much playing with her, she somehow can sense that this man is different from others and started to get along very well with Wilson. Heehee....

Baby Jez's weight is about 7.2kg. She needs to be fed every 3 to 4 hrs, drinking 5 and half oz of milk each time. 1 Cereal and 1 Porridge per day.
Baby Jez gets to swim for the first time on 10Apr09 at Ziyan 干妈's hse. We can see that she felt abit insecure when i put her in the water. However, a few minutes later, she started to play with the water... Altho' she did not really get very excited, we can see that she's enjoying herself and she knows what's going on. She did not cry for the whole 15mins session. I believe she likes water activites alot just like her Papa, will try to bring her for swimming more often...
Baby Jez starts to snatch things from her cousins now. She can be quite fierce sometimes. Ah Ma bought Baby Jez a mini piano and she likes it very much. When her cousins touch her piano, she will push their hands away. In order to stop her selfishness, I will purposely ask her cousins to touch her toys while she's playing so that they play together... However, kids are just kids. It's still a long way to teach her the correct values...
It is now very dangerous to leave Baby Jez sitting on the infant seat alone now. She will put both her hands at the side of the seat and push herself up. If nobody is monitoring, the seat might just turn over. I will only put her on the infant seat when she wants to drink milk as she is now able to hold the bottle and finish all the milk.
This month I have to leave Baby Jez for the first time to go to Abu Dhabi for 9 days to meet up with Wilson. We came back together on 25Apr09 and Wilson's sis actually brought Baby Jez to the airport to welcome us. Wilson is really happy to see Baby Jez. On the first day, Baby Jez doesnt really want to communicate with Wilson. However, on the second day, after much playing with her, she somehow can sense that this man is different from others and started to get along very well with Wilson. Heehee....
Baby Jez can sit more steadily now for 5 to 10 secs, with both her hands supported in front.
